Career Transitions
Career transitions can feel uncertain, especially in the legal profession. I work with lawyers to evaluate their options and move forward with clarity and purpose.

You may enjoy aspects of being a lawyer but still feel that something is off.
Perhaps you…
Not every career challenge requires a complete reinvention. Sometimes the right move is external. Sometimes the better move is internal.
As a lawyer and a career transition coach who spent more than 25 years in legal recruiting and coaching before focusing exclusively on coaching, I help lawyers evaluate their options thoughtfully and strategically. I help you assess what is working and what needs to change.
Moving to Another Firm or Going In-house
If a lateral move to another firm or going in-house transition makes sense, I help you clarify your goals, identify opportunities, position yourself effectively, and navigate the hiring process with confidence. That may include helping you with informational interviews, networking, refining your résumé, strengthening your narrative, preparing for job interviews, evaluating offers, and serving as a sounding board throughout the process.
Most importantly, I keep you motivated and accountable so that your responsibilities in your day job don’t get in the way of implementing change.
If a recruiter is involved, I help you manage that relationship strategically because I spent over two decades in legal recruiting.
Unlike recruiters, who are paid by employers to fill specific roles, my focus is entirely on you. A recruiter may be helpful if your background aligns with a current search. But coaching is different. Coaching helps you step back, assess the bigger picture, identify roadblocks, and make smart career decisions based on your goals, not someone else’s hiring needs.
Sometimes the Best Option is to Make Change Where You Are
In some cases, the best solution is not leaving at all.
Sometimes it makes more sense to make adjustments within your current firm or legal department, to reshape your role, shift practice focus, pursue leadership opportunities, improve key relationships, or navigate internal politics more effectively. Reinventing yourself where you are already known and respected can sometimes be the smartest move.
Whether you are considering a lateral move, an in-house transition, or trying to create a better professional fit where you are, or just feeling stuck, I can help you think strategically and get you moving forward with greater clarity and confidence.
