two images of mountains

It is hard to predict 🔮 which of your marketing activities will lead to success 🎯. It is hard to know which of your leads will turn into business.

A few weeks ago, I was in Vermont celebrating my birthday with my wife and some friends. The morning greeted us with ominous clouds—one of those days where it feels like the sun might not break through.

But by the afternoon, the skies cleared, revealing a stunning view of the mountains.

It got me thinking about how selling our professional services is a lot like that unpredictable Vermont weather. We can control how we show up, how we communicate, and how we offer value, but we can’t control who ultimately decides to hire us.

Just as I had to let go of worrying about the weather, we need to release our attachment to the outcome in sales. If we focus on the process—being genuine, adding value, and staying visible—the right clients will eventually come.

Remember: we can’t force the sun to shine, but we can trust it will. 🌞
